ONE YEAR WITH CORONAVIRUS : Closed pub update

Updated: Apr 12, 2021

I know a lot of you have been awaiting an update from us here at The Robin Hood.

So we thought that we would inform you of our plans for 2021.

As we learn to adapt our lives to accommodate coronavirus and it’s variations, we will continue to listen to professional advice. While COVID-19 and its variants are spreading rapidly worldwide, we can help stop the spread by avoiding close contact with anyone we do not live with and washing our hands regularly - NHS

Those who know us, will be aware that we are an independent business, built on hopes, dreams, love and hard work.

We have carefully considered the current situation and have decided that we will continue to remain closed. This will allow us to look forward to vaccine protection for all and to evaluate the changes to our industry, without risking the future of the pub.

We will not risk our home, business or the health of ourselves, our staff or our customers while there is uncertainty about the long term dangers posed to people by Covid-19 and its variants.

Although for some people COVID-19 causes only mild illness, it can make others very ill.

In over 125,000 cases in the UK the disease has been fatal. Our thoughts are with everyone who has lost a loved one during this year.

The virus does not discriminate and there is no correlation as to who develops symptoms, who survives, and those who do not make it.

Viruses constantly change through mutation, and new variants of a virus are expected to occur over time. Multiple variants of the virus that causes COVID-19 are circulating globally - CDC. These variants seem to spread more easily and quickly, which may lead to more cases and increase the strain on health care resources, leading to more hospitalisations, and potentially more deaths.

.

Most people experience grief when they lose someone important to them. It affects everyone differently. There's no right or wrong way to feel. If you feel that you need some extra help and support during this time, the charity support service Sudden has a bereavement helpline you can call on 0800 2600 400 if someone you know has died.

Supporting Independent Business

Although it has been suggested that things could be back to "normal" by the Summer.

We will remain closed throughout 2021. Our focus is to build an International community for the pub, online, where we can still enjoy the craic and the great produce, whilst maintaining public safety.

Join our New app, which has been designed in partnership with professional developers. Its new, clean interface comes with a raft of state of the art features, and best of all it’s completely FREE.

On the 18th March 2020

We decided to take the responsible approach and closed our business.
